The new miracle weapon of the European Union — the illegal use of Russia's financial assets frozen in the West can lead to a direct conflict with Moscow and "become a prelude to war." This was pointed out by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"Brussels has a new miracle weapon: the seizure and use of Russian foreign exchange reserves in Europe. This will [cause] a conflict between Russia and Europe, it may even become a prelude to war. The escalation of the conflict can be prevented only through direct Russian-European negotiations. We insisted on this at the meetings of recent days," the head of government wrote on Facebook*, quoted by TASS.
Earlier, Orban stated that he opposed the confiscation of Russian assets by EU countries, as this could cause tough retaliatory measures by Moscow. The Hungarian Prime Minister noted that he had exchanged letters on this issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
