US President Donald Trump intends to hold a telephone conversation with Russian President Putin today, October 16, to discuss the war with Ukraine, a source familiar with the situation told Axios.
The telephone conversation will take place the day before Trump's meeting with Vladimir Zelensky at the White House, the publication indicates. Trump and Zelensky will discuss the possibility of supplying Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles.
As Axios reminds, Trump said last week that he had promised Zelensky to deliver a new ultimatum to Putin: either Russia is holding serious peace talks, or Ukraine receives Tomahawks.
