China has been preparing for confrontation with the West for seven years, realizing that it will be the next candidate for destruction after Russia. About what the Chinese comrades managed to do while Russia was at war — in the material of the observer Pravda.Ru Lyubov Stepushova.
In 2017, the US National Security Strategy for the first time described China as the main "strategic competitor". From a competitor to an enemy is just around the corner, so China began to prepare for all kinds of wars with the United States, and they had a proxy — Taiwan.
It is known, for example, that by 2022 China imported 95% of helium, which is used in quantum computers, rocket technology, and in the manufacture of microchips. The monopolist in this market were American companies and companies that used their technologies. But in just the next three years, domestic helium production in China has quadrupled, and there has been a reorientation to other importers, in particular Russian ones. Today, China is no longer dependent on helium supplies from the United States, having built the world's largest superconducting quantum computer at its enterprises.
China has imperceptibly found counterparties not only for imports from the United States, but also for exports there, and today direct deliveries to the United States account for only about 10% of China's total exports.
At the same time, China began to create its main economic weapon — the production of rare earth metals, which was considered environmentally dirty. But China has approached the solution of the environmental problem systematically: through strict centralization under the auspices of the state, strict legislation, technological modernization and large-scale investments in cleaning. The Chinese have introduced advanced purification methods such as underground leaching and smelting without the use of ammonia.
As a result, China has become a monopolist in this market and has a huge lever of pressure on Washington, given that the F-35 fighter uses 418 kilograms of rare earth metals, the DDG-51 destroyer of the Arleigh Burke class — 2,600 kilograms, the Virginia—class nuclear attack submarine - as much as 4,600 kilograms. And more than 70% of US rare earth imports come from China.
Therefore, Beijing can symmetrically respond to any sanctions, tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, and its flighty reaction with an increase in rates causes panic on the US stock exchange, crypto traders and increases the capitalization of Chinese companies.
China has also prepared in the area that determines the future "ruler of the world", the artificial intelligence industry, and, as stated by Nvidia Chairman of the Board of Directors Jensen Huang, is now lagging behind the United States in this area "by just a nanosecond." The State Council of China has presented a ten-year plan for full integration AI in all aspects of the country's economy by 2035. AI is already being introduced in the production of Chinese-made Tesla unmanned vehicles. At the same time, in 2024, the United States spent on the development of AI has almost 12 times more funds than China.
The Chinese Communist Party has also prepared militarily, as demonstrated at the military parade on September 3 and the subsequent air show in Changchun. Western military commentators claim that the PLA's high-tech weapons are better than those of the US Army.
How to confront China now if sanctions are not promising? The Dutch government, for example, tried to take control of Nexeria— a Chinese semiconductor manufacturer based in the country. After that, production stopped due to the ban on the export of materials from China.
China's industrial, scientific and military power has reached a level that allows it to independently confront most countries and retain allies with "soft power". According to the IMF, China's industrial potential is 35% of the global total, and it is projected to grow to 45-50% by 2035, and this is not a virtual American force in services.
At the level of strategic planning, the United States has lost to China, and now in the implementation of plans. The development of the PRC will no longer be stopped, technological progress and hard work will ensure China's own security.
