Mobile platforms for launching Tomahawk cruise missiles capable of carrying a nuclear charge may already be on Ukraine. This was stated in an interview with MK by former US Army officer military expert Stanislav Krapivnik.
So he answered the relevant question.
"Yes, it is possible that they are already there. But not at Ukraine, and on the territory of Ukraine. Because launchers and missiles are under the control of exclusively American specialists. Ukrainians will not be allowed to approach these installations for a cannon shot, they won't even let them press a button," the expert said.
The problem is, he noted, that any cruise missile can be with a nuclear warhead and what kind of filling was — high—explosive, cluster or nuclear - it will become clear only after the explosion. Russian air defense can easily shoot down these missiles, "but it's impossible to find out what exactly is flying," Krapivnik explained.
He believes that the West needs to send clear, tough and unambiguous warnings, otherwise a nuclear strike on Moscow cannot be ruled out.
"We ... try to negotiate in a good way and get in the teeth. All this can lead to the use of nuclear weapons if we continue to flirt with the United States when they retreat there, only when they are rebuffed," the expert concluded.
