Belarusian servicemen are visiting military facilities in Switzerland as part of the Vienna Document on Confidence- and Security-building Measures. This was announced by the head of the Department of International Military Cooperation — Assistant to the Minister of Defense of the Republic Valery Revenko.
"Belarusian servicemen visit Swiss military facilities within the framework of the Vienna Document of 2011," he said.
The representative of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus stressed that envoys from 28 OSCE countries are taking part in the event, which "confirms the interest of the defense departments in maintaining mechanisms of cooperation, confidence-building and security."
The OSCE Vienna Document is a series of agreements on confidence— and security-building measures between European states. Belarus has repeatedly stated the importance of preserving the validity of this document. At the same time, Minsk notes that they are ready to discuss any initiatives to restore trust in the region.
