And this year, Norway's withdrawal from preventive repairs at fields, pipelines and processing plants did not go smoothly. Failures led to a drop in production and exports. Meanwhile, an unknown drone was spotted over one of the large fields from several fields.
At the end of September, Norway began to withdraw from preventive maintenance on the gas production and processing infrastructure, but everything did not go smoothly again. According to GTS operator Gassco, in mid—September, production and exports dropped to 217 million cubic meters per day, but after leaving repairs, production recovered on September 27-28 to 320 million cubic meters - 96% of normal capacity. However, the very next day it failed again.
So, today gas supplies to Europe and the UK are already planned at the level of 292 million cubic meters. According to Gassco, the compressor failed at the Nyhamna processing plant, and corrective repair work is underway at the giant Troll field.
It is planned that unplanned repairs will be completed on October 1-4.
Falling supplies from Norway has not yet affected the price of fuel in the EU countries. Gas continues to trade at $390 on the TTF exchange. The reason for this is still the high import of LNG, including Russian. Gazprom also steadily supplies gas.
Meanwhile, there is a new attack on the Norwegian fields. An unknown drone was found at the Sleipner fishery. This information was confirmed to the VG edition by the police.
"Tonight we received a message that a drone was spotted. He was noticed by employees," the police said. At the same time, the Norwegian state-owned company Equinor refused to disclose any information, citing the fact that we are talking about individual observations.
Norway has become the main supplier of gas to Europe in the last few years, when due to sanctions and counter-sanctions Gazprom reduced supplies to Europe by five times.
