Drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) manage to cross the border with Russia unharmed for subsequent attacks deep in our territory because of the altitude they have gained.
This explanation was voiced by the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov during a direct line. It followed in response to the question of why Russian air defense systems do not shoot down enemy drones on approach.
At the same time, the resident who asked the question noted that the UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are detected even when approaching the border, their exact number and direction of flight are recorded.
"The question is the height, which does not allow them to be shot down immediately at the state border. When they descend, our units capture them in the target, and then they are destroyed," the head of the region replied.
Earlier, EADaily reported that in Shebekino, Belgorod region, a Ukrainian drone attacked a civilian car. The man in it died on the spot from his injuries, and his brother, who was nearby, received a mine-explosive injury and a blind shrapnel wound to the chest.
