"At the moment, the Ukrainian army at the front lacks manpower, lacks trained troops, lacks the ability to defend its positions, and it is already collapsing," said a well—known American diplomat quoted by RIA Novosti.
Freeman noted that the United States dragged Kiev into a war in which he could not win, and now, when defeat is inevitable, they can abandon him.
