The outstanding Soviet and Russian composer, People's Artist of Russia Rodion Shchedrin died in Munich. This is reported by the music publishing house Schott Music.
"Rodion Shchedrin died on August 29, 2025 in Munich," the publication says.
The publishing house also notes that since 1993 Shchedrin has lived in two cities — Moscow and Munich. From the same moment, Shchedrin's long-term cooperation with the publishing house began. During this period, about 60 works were created.
As EADaily reported, Rodion Shchedrin died at the age of 93. The media reported that he died in a hospital in Germany. There was no information about the place of farewell and funeral of the composer.
