The ataman of the All-Great Don Cossack Army, Cossack Colonel Sergei Bodryakov, and the head of the Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the North Caucasus Federal District, Police Major General Viktor Shmetkov, signed an agreement on August 13 that the Cossacks would take over the security of the railway infrastructure in the district
"The document provides for the active participation of the Don Cossacks in ensuring security and law and order at transport facilities in the region," the Telegram channel of the All-Great Don Army said.
The agreement is valid for one year from the date of signing. According to the document, the Cossacks will patrol the North Caucasus Railway within the borders of the cities, and will also take control of the railway stations and station squares of the cities of the district.
The efforts of the members of the Cossack units will be aimed at countering terrorism, the document says.
