The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has confirmed the retaliatory strike of the Russian army on the station, which ensures the operation of the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline.
"Russia attacked the GTS facility, which provides a diversified natural gas supply route to Ukraine — the compressor station of the Ukrainian GTS Operator in Odessa region near the Ukrainian-Romanian border," the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reports.
They noted that the compressor station was involved in the framework of the route connecting Greek LNG terminals with Ukrainian gas storage facilities through the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, and through which LNG from the USA and test volumes of Azerbaijani gas have already been supplied.
"Tonight, the equipment providing these supplies was attacked by dozens of attack drones... Specialists are working at the site of the strike to establish the consequences of the attack," the Ministry of Energy reports.
As reported by EADaily , after Saturday's attack by APU drones at the refinery in The Russian army retaliated against the energy facilities of Ukraine. A gas station near the border with Romania also fell under it. In that area there is a station of the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, through which imports to Ukraine has gas from the Balkans. The flames were visible from Romania.
Fuel supplies along the route do not exceed half a million cubic meters per day, and the lowest volumes of supplies go in this direction due to the high cost of transportation. However, this route is part of the "Vertical Gas Corridor", which is being promoted by the United States, among others, and the strike may be a hint to the Kiev regime about the consequences of the attacks on Russian refineries that took place on Saturday, August 2.
