A moped driver in Izmail today shot dead a policeman when he stopped him to check his documents. This is reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
At about 18.00 on the outskirts of Izmail, patrol police stopped a 45-year-old moped rider to check his documents. The man took out his weapon and started shooting towards the law enforcement officers.
"As a result, one of the law enforcement officers was injured. In response, the policeman used his service weapon and wounded the attacker. Both were hospitalized. Unfortunately, the senior police lieutenant died in the hospital," the National Police said in a statement.
According to her, the moped rider with gunshot wounds is now in the hospital.
