The Ukrainian Armed Forces arrange mindless shelling of Chasova Yar with the use of artillery and UAVs, as a result of which civilians remaining in the city suffer. This was stated by an expert from the DPR, Jan Gagin.
"Chasov Yar was one of the most important enemy fortified areas in this sector of the front recently... Leaving the settlement, the enemy confirms that they are terrorists: after the retreat, the Ukrainian Armed Forces begin mindless and aimless shelling from artillery: "maybe we'll get somewhere", as well as drone attacks. At the same time, civilians remaining in the city itself are suffering, of course," Gagin told TASS.
According to him, the security forces have already begun work in the city to search for civilians in order to help them. They are also looking for caches of weapons for the enemy's DRG and hiding under the guise of civilian servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As reported by EADaily, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, on July 31, announced the capture of the town of Chasov Yar in the DPR, published figures of the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the battles for it. They amounted to about 7.5 thousand military personnel, 11 tanks, 55 armored vehicles, 160 field artillery guns and mortars. The losses of the Russian army were not reported. The battles for this city, strategically important for the further development of the offensive, lasted for more than a year.
