The Oreshnik complex is a unique weapon with a range of up to 5,000 kilometers, which has a deterrent potential. It can be enhanced with modifications, he noted in an interview with Pravda.Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Chepa.

He commented on the launch of mass production of the rocket, which was announced today by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Oreshnik complex has already entered the army. The leader also confirmed plans to deploy the "Hazel" in Belarus. Now the specialists of the two countries are preparing positions for the deployment of the complex, and, as Putin noted, "this issue will be closed by the end of the year."

Chepa stressed that the launch of mass production of the Oreshnik complex is an important stage for strengthening the country's defense capability. He noted that we are talking about a new generation of strategic weapons that have no analogues in the world.

"This is a modern weapon. And no one has that. This is a hypersonic weapon with multiple warheads. The range of this weapon is up to 5,000 kilometers," the parliamentarian explained.

According to Chepa, the modifications of the complex can be different, which gives it additional flexibility in application and enhances its deterrent effect.

"Modifications of weapons can also be different, and this will have a deterrent character. And many should think about the possibilities of using this," he added.

The deputy also explained the importance of the start of mass production, stressing that the prototypes have been ready for a long time and have passed all the tests, but the real significance is only the mass introduction into the troops.

"If an experienced weapon, it is there. The experimental was done a long time ago and conducted various tests of this weapon. But the series is the goal of the whole thing, to put it into service in the armed forces," explained Chepa.
