A German couple trumpeted to the media that they "met a Russian submarine" in the Baltic Sea.
According to the spouses Gerda and Anke Shekan, the submarine accompanied their sailing yacht in the exclusive economic zone of Russia, where the Germans were legally on their way from Polish Vladyslavovo to Lithuanian Klaipeda.
"First we saw black smoke, then the gray wheelhouse of a submarine approaching the yacht at an acute angle," the head of the family told Tagesspiegel.
Arriving in Klaipeda, local yachtsmen asked the Germans "if the Russians annoyed them." Allegedly, such incidents have become the "new normal" in this region, the newspaper writes.
