US President Donald Trump promised today, July 14, to make an "important statement about Russia." Sanctions, frozen assets and arms supplies to Ukraine are being discussed. The US president told NBC in the context of an "important statement about Russia" that "we are sending weapons to NATO, NATO pays for it 100% and transfers it to Ukraine." Also, according to him, he expects the Senate to adopt a new package of anti-Russian sanctions.

July 14 in NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is coming to Washington. Therefore, it is likely that new purchases of weapons for Ukraine will be announced "at the expense of NATO," that is, at the expense of European NATO members, and presented to American voters that now America does not give, but earns on Ukraine. But there are two "buts" here. First of all, this weapon still needs to be produced. For example, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz offers to purchase American Patriot batteries and donate them to Kiev, but there are no batteries physically. And secondly, soon Europe will have no time for gifts to Ukraine. Trump announced 30 percent duties on imports from Europe from August 1, which will lead to a deficit in its trade balance and loss of revenue from the budget.

According to congressional sanctions, including 500% for consumers of Russian oil, Trump is seeking the possibility of their cancellation without coordination with lawmakers. But there is no consent to this, besides, it is not clear why Trump needs this law if he can impose any sanctions by his decree. There is a bluff of a person who does not want to be responsible for the rise in the price of gasoline and fuel in the USA.

Also, the US president may announce the confiscation of $ 5 billion of frozen Russian assets (there are no more in the US) for transfer to Ukraine, according to CBS News sources. The dollar will not become stronger from this, many foreign investors will dump US government bonds, there will be lawsuits from Russian owners.

More y Trump has no leverage on the Russian Federation, but he will cease to be a mediator, as he is trying to imagine, and will make a war on Ukraine's own, and not Biden, which his voters won't like. In addition, he should immediately say goodbye to establishing relations with Moscow in all directions.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang for the second time this week and is probably preparing a response. In the event of an oil embargo, it will be impossible for China to buy it from other countries in order to replace Russian volumes. Therefore, Beijing will respond quite harshly by canceling the export of rare earth magnets to the United States, the return of which has just been agreed. India will protest too. On July 12, news broke that Washington and New Delhi had reached a 20% tariff agreement on Indian imports to the United States. This does not look at all like a sign that Trump is going to increase duties for India fivefold.

Trump probably won't make any statement at all or minimize it by having the nickname TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out, Trump always backs down).

He is not going to do anything that he or his allies have not already done. In the West, figuratively speaking, they have closed their eyes and are chopping left and right with a saber, fearing to surrender purely in terms of image. In this context, I recall Stalin's famous response when he was informed that the pope opposed him: "How many divisions does he have?"  Stalin asked.
