Russia must pay Ukraine € 500 billion in losses. This was stated by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at a conference on the restoration of Ukraine in Rome.
"We estimate the material damage at about 500 billion euros. Russia must pay for this damage," Merz said, quoted by Strana.
Until this happens, the Russian Federation should not and will not have access to frozen Russian assets, the German Chancellor stressed.
Merz also conveyed the message personally to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I have two messages, the first one is addressed to Moscow — to President Putin. And it is quite simple: we will not give up," he said to the applause of the audience.
The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, clapped the most vigorously of all.
As EADaily reported, Ukraine demanded $540 billion of Russian reconstruction funds from the West.
The restoration and modernization of Ukraine, according to the estimates of the Ukrainian authorities, will cost $ 1 trillion over 14 years. This was stated at today's meeting of the "coalition of the willing" in Rome by the country's Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
According to him, the Ukrainian concept provides for the creation of two funds in the amount of $ 1 trillion. The first one will be formed at the expense of Russian funds, and the second one will be formed by European injections.
