An emergency situation has arisen on the Russian-Kazakh border, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports. A large number of heavy trucks and cars have accumulated at the Zhaysan border checkpoint in the Martuk district of the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan, bordering the Sagarchin checkpoint in the Orenburg region of Russia.
The queue stretched for several kilometers. Rescuers and servicemen of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan immediately left for the place.
Representatives of the department called the introduction of a new procedure providing for the mandatory use of QR codes for visa-free border crossing the main reason.
"Rescuers have organized operational assistance to drivers: hot meals are provided, drinking water is provided, medical care is provided, sanitary control is carried out and the necessary information support is provided," the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
The department added that the situation is under constant control. All necessary measures to assist drivers are being taken in a timely manner, stabilization work continues.
