The Chilean Atacama Desert, which is considered the driest in the world, turned out to be snow-covered on Thursday, the ALMA observatory located on its territory reported.
"It's unbelievable! The Atacama Desert, the driest in the world, is covered with snow!" the observatory said in a message on the social network X.
As the Mercurio newspaper notes, earlier meteorologists predicted showers and storms in the region.
