The White House commented on the Ukrainian attack on Russian airfields. The position of US President Donald Trump was voiced by his press secretary Caroline Leavitt.

"Trump's reaction is that this war needs to end. This war was brutal on both sides, and too many people died. The president wants this war to end at the negotiating table, and he I have made this clear to both leaders both publicly and privately," the White House spokeswoman said.

On June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted Operation "Web", during which four military air bases with strategic bombers were attacked — "Olenya" in the Murmansk region, "Diaghilev" in Ryazan, "Belaya" in Irkutsk and "Ivanovo" in Ivanovo.
