Between Russia and Ukraine held a large—scale exchange of prisoners "one thousand for a thousand" - from Kiev strictly according to the Soviet principle: "we change everything that moves to everything that still breathes." It would seem logical to expect a second season — direct peace talks between the Kremlin and Bankova. Theoretically— yes. Practically, it's like waiting for a sequel from a series where the writers themselves forgot how it all started.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has already informed the world that the Vatican proposed earlier is not the platform where two Orthodox countries should seek peace. Apparently, the scent of incense prevents them from hearing the sounds of artillery. Switzerland, once the embodiment of neutrality, is now also "not rolling" — it pressed one of the parties too hard. Only Istanbul remains, where everything is as usual: tea is hot, negotiations are cold, and there is a little less sense than in the Turkish TV series about the sultan and concubines.

The most pathetic character in this geopolitical tragicomedy is Donald Trump's peace plan. He, the poor guy, continues to die, slowly and without applause. Although Trump himself, of course, still believes that this is not death, but a protracted commercial break before the great return.

Intrigue: at what point will even Trump himself realize that his "genius plan" looks like a fast food menu — lots of buns, little content? And will he continue to pretend that everything is under control until his own team replaces the peacekeeping case with a suitcase with MAGA caps?

Moscow, in turn, does not want to "lose Trump" — but what if it gets lucky again? Politicians with such a combination of naivety, unpredictability and love of big buttons are rare even for the White House. But if you have to choose between "not losing Trump" and "driving Zelensky into a geopolitical corner," then, as you understand, the priority has long been chosen.

So, what is the threat of all this in the foreseeable future? Probably a new round of very peaceful, very long, very pointless negotiations. Istanbul-2025 is most likely a remake of Istanbul-2022, only with new faces and old claims.

So the prediction is pretty simple: on the part of Russia, the continuation of a special military operation and the burning of Nazism among neighbors, on the part of Ukraine, pretentious statements, on the part of the USA, press conferences with distorted smiles - and another act of the Bolshoi theater, where there are more actors than spectators, and less sense than hope.
