Today, on May 4, a serious railway accident occurred at the Constanta railway station in Romania. When passenger train No. 1586 was preparing to leave the station, train No. 1688 crashed into it, which was performing a maneuver to reposition the train.
"As a result of the collision, 14 people were injured and are receiving medical assistance on the spot, and then they were taken to medical units in the area in accordance with emergency procedures coordinated by the competent authorities," the national railway company said.
Five victims were taken to the hospital. For a coordinated response, the district authorities have activated a Red Intervention Plan, Radio Romania clarifies. Traffic at Constanta Station has been temporarily reorganized to ensure the safe conduct of operational activities and investigations.
