The opposition in Turkey has launched a nationwide campaign for the resignation of the current president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Politicians also advocate holding early elections, as reported by the telegram channel "Main News of Turkey".
Ozgur Ozel, representing the opposition, launched the campaign in Trabzon, where signatures are already being collected. The main item on the agenda sounds like "freedom for presidential candidate Ekrem Imamoglu."
The first signature on the document was put by 93-year-old Ruki Koroglu. Oppositionists in Turkey plan to collect 28 million signatures of citizens in order to surpass the number of votes that Erdogan won in the last election.
