Frozen Russian assets cannot be confiscated, as this is contrary to international law. He stated this at a meeting with US President Donald Trump in In Washington, his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
"It is impossible to take frozen assets of Russia, it is contrary to international law," said Macron, quoted by AIF.
According to the French president, the issue of frozen assets of the Russian Federation should become part of the negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
He also said that, together with British colleagues, Paris is ready to provide security guarantees to Ukraine, including sending military personnel. It is not a fact that they will be located on the front line, in particular, they may be there as a guarantee.
