The administration of US President Donald Trump insists on the complete withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from southern Lebanon by February 18. This was stated by Deputy Special Envoy to the Middle East Morgan Ortagus, according to Israeli media.
"We are firmly adhering to this date," Ortagus said, quoted by the agency. Haqqin.az .
Today Ortagus met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at his residence in the Baabda Palace in Beirut, and after the talks the parties held a joint press conference.
According to Ortagus, Hezbollah must remain defeated, disarmed and its representation in the Lebanese government is excluded.
