In Karelia, an explosion of household gas occurred in a cafe, the building was significantly damaged. This was reported in the regional prosecutor's office.

"According to preliminary data, on January 6, at about 15:30 Moscow time, an explosion of household gas occurred in a closed catering establishment on Karelskaya Street in the city of Sortavale, followed by a fire. As a result, one person received a hand burn," the report said.

The city prosecutor Anton Grimanov is working at the scene of the incident. During the supervisory activities, an assessment will be given of compliance with safety requirements when using gas equipment.
