Details of the assassination attempt were told by one of the conspirators, Yuri Zenkovich.

"To shoot the helicopter of the head of state either on takeoff or on landing from a heavy machine gun," he said.

It should be recalled that in April 2021, during the republican clean-up day, Alexander Lukashenko said that Western special services were preparing an armed rebellion, as well as an attempt on him and his children. He named the CIA and the FBI as possible organizers. Later it became known about the detention of conspirators Alexander Feduta, Yuri Zenkovich, and Grigory Kostusev with the assistance of the FSB. All of them were subsequently sentenced to large terms of imprisonment.
