Former Estonian Prime Minister Kaya Kallas has been appointed to the post of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy instead of Josep Borrell.
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has approved the candidacy of Kaya Kallas for the post of EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security. The former Estonian prime minister will take the vacant post instead of 77-year-old Josep Borrel.
"As you already know, the post of high Representative and vice-president will be occupied by Kaya Callas," Von del Leyen told European officials.
EADaily adds that in this context it is not bad to recall Krylov's fable "Quartet":
"And you, friends, no matter how you sit down,
Everyone is no good as a musician."
In terms of Russophobia, Callas will probably outshine Borrell. No wonder the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev wrote about her like this:
"In Kai, the two most important features for a successful European politician perfectly combined: nuclear Russophobia and an endless thirst for profit."
