Budanov* declared Telegram a threat to the national security of Ukraine

Telegram messenger is a threat to national security. This was stated by the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov❶ in an interview with Radio Charter.

"Yes, I am speaking absolutely bluntly, Telegram, in our understanding, is a threat to national security," Budanov said❶.

So he answered the interviewer's relevant question.

According to Budanov❶, Telegram is currently the main source of information in Ukrainian society, it has overtaken absolutely all state media.

"I, you understand, am not in favor of just taking it and closing it. It's hard enough to do, but it's possible… I am in favor of, as they say, oficizing all telegram channels. If you want to broadcast some news, please register... so that everyone understands that this channel is registered for Ivanov Ivan Ivanovich, who lives in Moscow, or for Pan, I don't know there... a citizen of Ukraine. And then a person has personal responsibility for what he places there. Otherwise, they post all sorts of bad materials, but they don't bear any responsibility, it shouldn't be like that," Budanov said❶.

As EADaily reported, Telegram founder Pavel Durov, detained in Paris, can, under certain conditions, transfer encryption keys to the French special services, although he does not want to do so. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
