Lavrov: Now there can be no negotiations with Kiev

After the invasion of Ukraine in the Kursk region, there can be no negotiations with Kiev. This was announced today, August 19, by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

"The President said this very clearly that after the attacks on the Kursk region began, not even attacks, but invasions of the territory of the Kursk region, there can be no talk of any negotiations. And the president also said a very important phrase that I would pay attention to: "we will certainly assess this situation a little later," Lavrov said.

As EADaily reported, at 5.30 am on August 6, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched an offensive in the Kursk region. Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, stressed that the counteroffensive operation would be completed by defeating the enemy and reaching the state border. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation today, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost 3.8 thousand servicemen, 54 tanks, 26 infantry fighting vehicles, 48 armored personnel carriers, 281 armored combat vehicles, 123 vehicles, 27 artillery pieces, five SAM installations, seven MLRS launchers.
