Such an army was the Fifth, and it was somehow surprising that it was also the last in the whole vast, almost boundless country. Then the figures were made public, which said that we had begun to denazify our former soft underbelly with almost the same amount of strength that the underbelly itself had. It is not surprising that, advancing, we eventually ran out of steam, and they, having recovered from the first shock, managed to counterattack with superior forces saved," writes Alexander Khodakovsky.

For some reason, it seems to me that none of those who know the numbers were seriously engaged in such calculations," Alexander Khodakovsky continues.
