Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs of Burkina Faso Kassum Coulibaly is confident that his state and Russia understands each other perfectly. That is why, as TASS clarifies today, on August 17, the West African state is counting on Moscow's active assistance in the field of security.
We are talking about assistance, as the minister specified, since Africans themselves must ensure their safety.
"No one can provide security better than ourselves. Russia can help us; we are counting on it in some areas. But we will suffer if Russian soldiers come to die for us, while we have the hands, minds and inclinations to do it. We may lack certain knowledge, we may lack equipment — yes, let them (Russians — EADaily) help us, let them. But we don't want anyone to take our place," added Kassum Coulibaly.
According to Coulibaly, Russia's approaches and actions fit perfectly into his logic.
"We prefer to learn the hard way and face our realities and what is in front of us. So, with our Russian friends, we understand each other well on this principle," the minister said.
EADaily reminds that Coulibaly came to Moscow on a recent visit, as well as to attend the Army-2024 forum.
