The international neo-Nazi group National-Socialism/White Power (NS/WP❶, recognized in Russia is terrorist and banned) has claimed responsibility for the murder of Ukrainian MP Irina Farion, according to the Ukrainian publication "Politics of the Country" and the TV channel "Direct", referring to the video published by the movement with the moment of the murder.
Politika writes that the author of the video motivated Farion's murder by the fact that she incited hatred on a linguistic basis within Ukrainian society (the publication notes that this may be due to her criticism of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who spoke Russian). At the same time, the author supported the Ukrainian army and stated that he was fighting an "internal enemy," the publication reports.
Farion was shot on July 19 in Lviv, a bullet hit her in the temple. The ex-MP died in hospital. She was 60 years old.
