The Ukrainian Security Service has announced a special operation in Mariupol because of a possible attempt on President Petro Poroshenko’s life in which Igla shoulder-fired missile system was allegedly used, EADaily’s correspondent is told at the press office of the Donetsk People’s Republic Armed Forces on November 17. Reportedly, members of the Ukrainian opposition could be involved in the plot.
On November 16, Petro Poroshenko paid a visit to Mariupol to celebrate the Ukrainan Marines Day. He participated in giving awards to those who fought in the so-called “anti-terror operation”. Previously, DPR officials reported on protest moods in the Ukrainian army against Poroshenko’s regime and their readiness to support the opposition.
