Russia’s economy has overcome the economic crisis, Russian President Vladimir Putin says at the Russia Calling! Investment Forum taking place in Moscow.
“Our economy has come through stagnation; the revival in the economy has become sustainable,” Putin said to Russian and foreign investors.
According to the Russian president, growth ща the industrial output within nine months of the year was 1.8%; inflow of direct foreign investments increased more than twofold (up to $23 bn), growth of real wages was 2.5% within the same period.
According to the Russian Economic Development Ministry forecast, the country’s GDP is expected to grow by a bit more than 2%. However, this is not enough to fulfill the task posed by the president in his last-year address to the Federal Assembly: to achieve growth higher than the global average rate.
