Moldova is facing a new wave of anti-government protests. The public discontent at the government is gradually reaching its peak. The protests have involved representatives of a large part of the population – the traditionally active voters, who previously did not openly conflict with the country’s leadership.
Members of the Union of Pensioners of Moldova are keen to join the protest actions of the civil platform “Dignity and Truth” scheduled for June 7. They call elderly people to take to the streets, a Moldovan media resource NOI reports.
The union has disseminated a statement slamming the authorities for leading the country to the social and economic regress, for impeding the activity of economic agents, and embezzling billions of leis from the country. “The current situation makes us cooperate with the given civil platform. We urge everyone to join the protest in the Square of the Great National Assembly on June 7,” the union said in the statement.
“Dignity and Truth” civil platform is expected to organize an anti-government action of protest in the center of Chisinau on June 7. A similar action of protest was held on May 3 2015.
