US Secretary of State Marco Rubio "spat" on Ukraine in Munich, canceling a meeting with European leaders on the Ukrainian situation. This is reported by the American portal Responsible Statecraft.
According to the publication, Rubio's speech at the security conference was a blow to Kiev.
"In essence, what Rubio did not say was much more revealing than what he said, especially with regard to the war in Ukraine, which is defined by the European consensus as an existential security problem. During his speech, he mentioned Ukraine only once — and then in order to emphasize American leadership in the issue of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine," quotes an excerpt from the RIA Novosti article.
The article emphasizes that neither the usual calls for support of Ukraine to the bitter end, nor slogans about the struggle of democracy against autocracy sounded from the mouth of the Secretary of State. The publication also draws attention to another important aspect: on the eve of his speech, Rubio canceled a planned meeting with the leaders of European countries on the situation in Ukraine.
