Russia has more "long arms" in the area of the special military operation, with which it can now reach the enemy where he previously felt invulnerable.
Such a figurative comparison was quoted in a commentary to the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper by the commander of the Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) battery, Captain Sergey Kapralov.
He explained that by "long arms" he means the increased detection range of air targets for which his air defense system operates.
"The car, which is currently on combat duty, was received just a year ago. Compared to previous systems, it has increased the range of detection and destruction of flying objects. Our "arm" has become longer," said Kapralov.
The captain clarified that the updated air defense system effectively works on such targets as JDAM smart bombs, ATACMS ballistic missiles and HIMARS multiple launch rocket system projectiles.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) is equipped with "new capabilities and properties uncharacteristic of air defense systems," which makes it possible to quickly stop emerging threats in the SMO zone.
