Under the leadership of the new CEO David Ellison (the son of one of the richest people in the world, Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison), who spent 100 days as head of the American Paramount Skydance, the media company compiled a blacklist of anti—Semitic actors. This is reported by the Variety portal.
"Sources report that Paramount maintains a list of actors with whom it will not work because their views are considered "openly anti-Semitic," as well as "xenophobic" and "homophobic," the publication says.
Which of the actors is included in this list is unknown. However, Paramount had previously strongly criticized the open letter of American filmmakers in support of Palestine, which was published in September this year. Among the signatories of the appeal are such stars as Javier Bardem and Emma Stone. The letter called for a boycott of Israeli film studios.
In addition, on October 29, the company announced the dismissal of about 1 thousand people, which hit hard on women who hold high positions in the divisions of the media group.
"Among the 14 television executives who received a notice of dismissal (including CBS, BET and MTV), 11 were women," the publication says.
As EADaily reported, in early October it became known that Paramount would close several MTV channels in European countries by the end of 2025. In particular, the channels MTV Music, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, Club MTV and MTV Live will cease broadcasting in the UK on December 31, 2025.
In a number of Central and Eastern Europe, including in Poland and Hungary are expected to close music channels MTV, TeenNick, NickMusic, Comedy Central Extra and Paramount Network by the end of the year.
