Since the beginning of this year, a substantive discussion of the armed conflict has been taking place between Russia and the United States. Ukraine. This dialogue is useful because it brings concrete results.
This opinion was expressed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on the recent statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio about the Russian-American meeting.
The head of Russian diplomacy positively assessed the influence of the Trump administration on the negotiations on the Ukrainian issue. His statement is published by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The minister confirmed that the Russian side regularly communicates with American colleagues at various levels, including telephone conversations between the presidents, contacts between Lavrov and Marco Rubio, as well as consultations through the special representative of the US President Steven Witkoff.
"The resumption of direct dialogue by the current US administration fully complies with normal diplomatic practice, the rejection of which under J.Biden contradicted common sense. The substantive discussion of Ukrainian issues between Moscow and Washington, which has been taking place since the beginning of the year, is very useful and gives results. It was thanks to the persistence of President D. Trump that the Kiev regime agreed to our proposal to resume the Istanbul talks," the Foreign Minister said.
According to him, progress in reliably eliminating the root causes of the crisis also implies a clear clarification of the positions of all patrons of Kiev. This concerns the actions of the Ukrainian regime on the legislative and physical extermination of all Russian: language, education, culture, history, memory, on the prohibition of canonical Orthodoxy.
"There is no other country in the world, except Ukraine, where any language would be officially banned. We are convinced that the United States, which, unlike many hypocrites in the European Union, is sincerely interested in ensuring human rights and national minorities, could give an objective assessment of such a situation. This would be an important step towards tangible progress," Lavrov concluded.
Earlier, EADaily reported that, according to Sergey Lavrov, for the first time in its history, Russia is fighting alone against the entire West, but Moscow has "a huge number of partners, like-minded people, allies."
