US President Donald Trump went to confrontation with Russia in order to conclude a profitable trade deal with Europe, which puts Washington on a collision course with Moscow. This was stated on the social network by former Pentagon adviser retired Colonel Douglas MacGregor.
"This agreement explains why Trump's dissatisfaction with the Russia is growing. In fact, Trump's confrontation with Russia over Ukraine is the price that Washington willingly pays for Europe's capitulation to Trump's demands on trade," the colonel writes, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Washington's confrontation with Moscow, he said, "strengthens the influence of the globalist elite on European leaders and reinforces the lie that Russia threatens Europe."
The agreement with the European Union "puts Washington on a collision course with Moscow, for which the US armed forces are not ready," the expert stressed.
As reported by EADaily, US President Donald Trump is playing a game of ultimatums with Russia, which could cost him dearly. This was stated on the social network by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
This is how he commented on Trump's statement today that he was shortening the 50-day deadline set by him earlier to achieve a truce between the Russian Federation and Ukraine for up to 10-12 days.
Recall, US President Donald Trump admitted the possibility of a deal with Moscow on Ukraine, threatening secondary sanctions and duties if the conflict could not be resolved in the near future. He said this at a press conference following a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Turnberry (Scotland).
Trump announced that from July 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin will have no more than 12 days to cease fire on Ukraine. Initially, the deadline was 50 days and was supposed to end on September 3.
