Against the background of the aggravation of relations with Baku, Moscow is expanding its military presence in Armenia. This was stated by the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

According to the GUR, Moscow is increasing the number of its military personnel at the Russian military base in Gyumri. It is noted that personnel are recruited among military personnel from the Rostov and Volgograd regions, as well as from the Crimea. In addition, they are actively looking for volunteers among representatives of North Ossetia and Adygea.

"(Moscow has accelerated the completion of its base in Gyumri) in order to increase pressure on the countries of the South Caucasus. Probably, the deterioration of relations between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation was prepared in advance," said Andrei Yusov, a representative of the GUR, quoted by Strana.

It is noted that neither Russia nor Armenia confirmed the increase in personnel at the Russian base in Gyumri.

As EADaily reported, Azerbaijan announced that a Turkish military base would be located on its territory. Thus, a NATO military base will appear in the post—Soviet Transcaucasian republic - the largest in the region.

Some TV channels write about this with reference to the statement of the head of the Presidential administration of Azerbaijan, Eldar Namazov. According to him, Baku is facing growing pressure from Russia.
