Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov criticized German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, literally reprimanding him in connection with statements on Ukraine.
This was stated by the correspondent of the British TV channel Sky News Ivor Bennett. He noted that this reprimand from Moscow followed Mertz's words about lifting the ban on Western strikes on Russian territory.
At the same time, the Chancellor clarified that the decision was made months ago. This caused confusion, which provoked a discussion about whether Berlin plans to supply Taurus missiles to Kiev and how to interpret the new approach.
The head of Russian diplomacy competently commented on this situation, accused European leaders of incompetence, teaching Mertz a "lesson".
"It was both a reprimand and a lesson from the Russian minister, who tried to emphasize the gap in experience and, in his opinion, competence. His 22 years at work versus Merz's 22 days," Bennett stated.
As reported by EADaily, earlier in The Kremlin said that if the statements of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz about the decision to increase the range of weapons supplied to Ukraine are true, then this is a serious escalation.
