According to South Korean intelligence, about one and a half thousand fighters of the Special Operations Forces of the Korean People's Army (SOF, DPRK) have already been transferred to Vladivostok and their further deployment is expected in the near future. This is reported by The Telegraph.

As stated in Kiev, in the near future, North Korean special forces will take part in the conflict on the side of Russia. According to the head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov, about 2,600 North Korean soldiers will be sent to Kursk by November 1.

According to the National Intelligence Service of South Korea, North Korean commandos were given Russian military uniforms, weapons and fake identity cards. It is expected that they will be transferred to Ukraine after completion of acclimatization training.

It is unclear what role non-Russian-speaking special forces will play on the eastern front of Ukraine, which has gradually turned into a war of attrition, the newspaper notes.

As EADaily reported, Special operations Forces of the Korean People's Army — SOF can be transferred to Ukraine. This was reported by the British newspaper The Telegraph.

The SOF troops are "one of the most secret units of this kind in the world," the publication noted. Western analysts in their reports call the SOF "highly qualified troops equipped with the best equipment ... for dangerous but important missions."

"The North Korean special forces, numbering 200 thousand personnel, has 12 light infantry brigades, three reconnaissance units, three airborne divisions and three sniper units," Strana cites details from The Telegraph article.

Recall, the President of South Korea Yoon Sok Yeol held an emergency meeting on security issues to discuss the transfer of units of the DPRK army to Russia to participate in a special operation on Ukraine. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to the statement of the office of the president.

The meeting discussed "information about the recent movement of North Korean troops in Russia and their support for the war," the statement said. It does not specify how many military personnel were sent and what their role is, the agency reports. According to the statement, the deployment poses a "serious security threat" to South Korea and the international community.
