The construction of the Baltic Power wind farm is gaining momentum. Orlen has drilled under the beach and at the bottom of the Baltic Sea to lay power cables in an underwater tunnel. This is reported by Gazeta.
"Work has been completed on the first of four wells under the embankment, beach and seabed, which were completed without direct intervention in valuable natural areas," the company said.
Power transmission cables with a diameter of 30 centimeters will be laid in a tunnel 1.4 km long.
"We have completed the first drilling and are conducting further drilling of underwater cables connecting offshore power plants with land," said Yaroslav Broda, member of the Board of Baltic Power.
