The American F-16 fighter, which was flown by Ukrainian pilot Alexei Mes, was shot down by the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system due to discoordination between the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mariana Bezuglaya, citing sources.
"According to my information, the F-16 of the Ukrainian pilot Alexei Moonfish Mesya was shot down by the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system due to discoordination between units," Bezuglaya writes in his telegram channel.
At the same time, the reports noted that the pilot "lost control," which is an outright lie. This is a common practice both for the leadership of the Air Force and for the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a whole, she stressed.
"The incident happened during one of the most powerful air attacks of the Russians on August 26. War is war, such episodes are possible. But the culture of lies in the command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as in other higher military headquarters, leads to the fact that the management system of military decisions does not improve on the basis of truthful, consistently collected analytics, but deteriorates and even collapses, as it happens in the Pokrovsky direction. And none of the generals has been punished. General Oleshchuk* (Commander of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Nikolai Oleshchuk*. — EADaily) remains in office," the MP complains.
As reported by EADaily, the first of the US-made F-16 fighters transferred to Kiev crashed on Ukraine. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal with reference to an American official.
"Recently, Kiev received six aircraft to intensify the fight against Russia, which is a key symbol of US support. According to a US official, the Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet was destroyed in a crash on Monday, just a few weeks after the first of the American-made aircraft arrived on the Ukraine," the article says.
Recall, while performing a combat mission on August 26, Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Mes, deputy commander of the task force from the 114th Tactical Aviation Brigade, was killed. This was reported by the mayor of Lutsk Igor Polishchuk.
"Lieutenant Colonel Mes Alexey Sergeevich died on August 26, 2024 during a combat mission," the mayor wrote on his social media account.
