Vladimir Demchik, the former head of the clothing department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, was arrested in Moscow, he is suspected of receiving a bribe of 4 million rubles. This was announced today, August 6, by the official representative of the RF IC Svetlana Petrenko.

"The 235th Garrison Military Court granted the petition of the main military investigation Department The Investigative Committee of Russia on the detention of the Deputy General Director of LLC "Textile Trading Company" (Tchaikovsky Textile Group of companies) Vladimir Demchik. He is suspected of committing a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on an especially large scale)," she said.

According to her, the amount of the bribe amounted to 4 million rubles, and the bribe to the Contractor in the spring of 2017 was handed over by the director of one of the commercial organizations in order to obtain a state contract for the supply of clothing in the interests of RF Armed Forces.

"Having studied the seized documents, investigators established that in 2017-2018 the organization represented by the bribe giver was involved as a co-executor under state contracts for the supply of various clothing for the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. During the specified period, a total of 26 contracts were concluded with her for a total amount of more than 574 million rubles," said the representative of the TFR.

As reported by EADaily, on the eve it became known that a criminal case was opened against officials of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Central Military-Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Patriot and the Convention and Exhibition Center Patriot under the article on fraud. Vyacheslav Akhmedov, director of the park, and Major General Vladimir Shesterov, deputy head of the Main Department of Innovative Development of the Russian Ministry of Defense, were arrested.

According to the investigation, Akhmedov and Shesterov, together with their accomplices, were involved in the embezzlement of budget funds allocated to ensure the operation and functioning of the park and the convention and exhibition center.
