The journalist recalled how the judoka came into conflict with citizens who came out to demonstrate in support of Palestine in Tokyo and threatened them with violence.
Tom Thumb was born in Yalta in 1992. He is an Olympic bronze medalist in Tokyo, the bronze medalist of the World Championship, the winner of the gold and bronze medals of the European Championship.
Swimmer Andy Moraz will carry the Israeli flag at the opening of the Games on July 26, along with a Finger.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Olympic Committee has called for Israel to be suspended from the 2024 Games in Paris.
According to L'Équipe, with reference to AFP, a corresponding letter was sent on July 22 to the head of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
The Palestinian NOC accuses Israel of bombing the Gaza Strip and violating the Olympic truce.
Earlier it became known that FIFA postponed the issue of Israel's suspension from football tournaments.
The Games in Paris will be held from July 26 to August 11. The Israeli national team will be represented by 88 athletes.
