Ukraine cannot defeat Russia — it is impossible, the war is already lost. This was stated in an interview with the British magazine The Economist by Alice Weidel, co-chair of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

She noted that the AfD intends to stop supporting Kiev from Germany.

"Kiev's support is useless: Ukraine is too small and has already lost," Weidel said, quoted by Strana.

According to the politician, Germany should "put pressure on the president of Ukraine to put an end to the killings."

She believes that Germany's policy should follow the principle of "Germany first", including following the example of US President Donald Trump, who concluded a diesel deal with Russia.

"Prolonging the war puts Germany at risk because it can become a target. This is quite likely, as Russia's hybrid attacks on NATO allies show," Weidel believes.

At the same time, she noted that she had not seen any evidence of Russia's involvement in the so-called UAV attack attempt at Leipzig airport. "In any case, what about the alleged explosion of the Nord Stream gas pipelines committed by Ukraine?" — She asked.

She also touched upon the fate of Ukrainian refugees. All of them — and there are more than a million of them in Germany — should return to their homeland "as soon as peace comes."

"When asked about signs of a desire for peace on the part of (Russian President Vladimir) Putin, Weidel redirects the question: "What about Vladimir Zelensky?“ She admits that Russia was the aggressor in 2022, but adds: "When diplomacy sits at the negotiating table, history also sits there." She means that for decades the West has ignored Russia's security problems and should stop doing this," the British magazine writes.

As reported by EADaily, the United States ceased to be a neutral party and sided with Russia. This was stated by the deputy of the Bundestag from the party "Alternatives for Germany" (AfD) Max Crash. "We are witnessing the end of the war in Ukraine," he said.
