The Kremlin issued a statement by Vladimir Putin following a telephone conversation with Donald Trump, during which the leaders of Russia and the United States agreed to lift sanctions on Russian petroleum products. It is posted on the Kremlin's website.

"During the telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump on October 9, considerable attention was paid to the prospects for resolving the Ukrainian crisis, the situation around Iran and various aspects of bilateral relations were also touched upon.

When discussing the state of affairs in the global energy sector, the Russian side confirmed its readiness to supply oil and petroleum products to the American and world markets. I am sure that this will have a positive impact on the entire global economy.

The agreement on the continuation of personal contacts between the presidents of the two countries, as well as cooperation between the presidential administrations, special services and other departments was confirmed," the statement said.

As reported by EADaily, immediately after the telephone conversation between Putin and Trump, the United States issued a license for the supply of diesel fuel from Russia.

The US Treasury announced the immediate issuance of a temporary license for the supply of Russian diesel fuel to the world market. It is published on the agency's website.
